Version 1.2.0 - By Adam Reece.
This is a front end program to launch Unreal Tournament 2004 with specific configuration files to help create public or private profiles.
Both the x86 and x64 versions can be loaded. The x64 (3369) version is available here.
This application was written in VB.net (framework 3.5) using Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Professional. You will require the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 to run this application available from Microsoft Windows Update, or already available with Windows 7.
Settings are saved at %LocalAppData%\Adam_Reece\Unreal2004Launcher.
Although installing this couldn't be easier, somebody is bound to mess it up so here are the instructions:
There is no installer because I don't feel like contributing more rubbish to the vast junkyard that is your registry.
This is quite simple... just tell the launcher where you have installed Unreal Tournament 2004. It's normally at C:\UT2004.
The list box containing x86 and x64 let's you choose which binary executable you want to load.
You can select two configuration files to open when Unreal Tournament 2004 starts.
The magnifying glass icon lets you browse for INI files, and the pen icon opens your default INI editor with the selected configuration file.
When you launch the game the specified configuration files are copied to the UT2004\System folder so they can be loaded. This means you require write access to this folder.
If you store your configuration files outside the UT2004\System folder, the following options help you maintain effortless privacy.
These options will not be available if you keep your custom INI files in the UT2004\System folder.
I have finally created a system for you to easilly check for updates.
Once the page loads, your version will be compared with the one I have on my webserver. You will be told whether you need to update or not.
To update (if you're told to) download the file as instructed, and overwrite the existing program files you extracted from the previous version.
Make sure you closed the application before you attempt to overwrite!
To check if you updated correctly, open the application, click About, click Check for updates, and see if the version number now matches the one on my website.
Thanks for your interest in my software.
